Pam Arnold
About Pam

With a compassionate nature and adventurous spirit, Pam Arnold’s disposition belies the tragedy she has endured.  After caring for her first husband through his battle with lung cancer, Pam became a widow at the age of 36.

Starting life over when most people are looking ahead to retirement, Pam sought business advice on a recommendation from a friend.  Her “advisor,” Ken Arnold, soon became not only her business partner but also her husband.  Inspired by Ken’s success in real estate, Pam joined him in business and purchased a parcel of land which she planned to develop as a housing subdivision.

Ironically, as she was becoming a successful homebuilder, Pam’s own home was slowly poisoning her.  Pam had been experiencing severe physical symptoms including digestive disorders, with upper abdominal cramping, kidney ailments, arthritis, migraines, fatigue, mental confusion and memory lapses.  Despite consulting specialists, no one seemed to be able to diagnose the problem.  Most medical practitioners wrote it off to female hysteria or hypochondria.  One doctor even advised Pam to “stop looking for things to worry about.”

When Pam’s mother moved into the home, she quickly developed symptoms that were diagnosed as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.  Requiring more care than Pam could offer, Pam moved her mother into a senior facility.  Her “Alzheimer’s” and “Parkinson’s” disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared.

Mystified, Pam continued to search for answers to her declining health, but was now suffering so many symptoms, just getting through the day was difficult.  Still, she carried on and during a routine remodel of their home, they discovered toxic mold growing within the walls of her home.   With little information available to her, Pam, Ken and their contractor John tore out the walls, releasing the lethal spores into the air – and into their bodies.  Within months, Ken developed kidney cancer and John’s gallbladder had to be removed.

The couple eventually decided to destroy their home rather than risk passing the potential hazards along to anyone else.  Along with the loss of their home, Pam and Ken lost their health and financial resources, but not their determination.  Pam made recovering their health her first priority.  Her second priority was making sure no one else had to endure what she and Ken had.

Pam published her first book, "ENEMY WITHIN THE WALLS," in 2008.  The book chronicles her journey and teaches others about possible hazards in their homes.  Pam is now a Certified Mold Inspector, providing solutions for helping people live toxin-free lives. She speaks to organizations across the country, including doctors and alternative health practitioners, homeowners and builders about how to diagnose and, more important, prevent conditions that allow toxins to thrive.

Currently working on a second book which looks at how toxins affect various sectors of our population from infants to seniors, Pam is a frequent media guest, appearing on television and radio to enlighten others about living toxin free.

Pam and Ken Arnold live in Rancho Mirage, California.  While initially choosing the desert community as the best climate for their recuperation, they are now happily – and permanently - at home.
